Hungary and Poland are under consideration when it comes to the places where the company will build the next generation of their Defender model.

The current generation of Defender is assembled in Solihull, United Kingdom. However, the company is seriously considering Poland and Hungary as countries for the construction of the next generation. The Hungarian city Gyor has already served as a supply base by Audi. There they produced the TT model along with an engine with four cylinders. This city can be used this time as well for Land Rover. As for the possible region of plant in Poland, no information has been published yet.

Beside this news, there was also information that the automaker wants to continue the production of the current generation of Defender. For this purpose, Defender considers different overseas plant options. In this case, the cars will be produced for the non-European market. One of the options in this case is building cars in India, and other automakers have been already doing it. India-based production would allow lowering of production costs. Besides, the country has high potential of cheap labor.
